Charge
The Task Force on Social Networking Software will be composed of seven people including liaisons from the MLANET Editorial Board, Section Council, and Chapter Council. In addition, a board liaison and staff liaison will be appointed. The task force will be appointed for a two-year term and be charged with investigating issues surrounding the implementation of blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, and other social networking tools for MLA and its units including:
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending appropriate social networking tools for MLA and its units that are hosted on MLANET and also for units not hosted on MLANET;
- Studying and recommending how to implement these tools on MLANET;
- Creating preliminary guidelines for MLA units on how to successfully conduct Association business with these tools. These guidelines should include aspects of security, spam, posting etiquette, censorship, etc. Once approved, individual units will be able to modify the general guidelines to fit their particular needs.
- Creating a draft timeline for implementing these tools on MLANET;
- Issuing interim reports to the Board including a report for the Fall Board meeting and the midyear and annual reports.
